Really nice Mexican joint.... we enjoyed the food.
Staff was kind to make pure vegetarian dishes for us.
The place is very pretty and super clean. I even liked the service. The only reason the review is lower, I do feel like the food could have more seasoning. I ordered the shrimp fajitas. The shrimp was a bit tough. Also, I wanted flavor. The only flavor I was getting was majority from the hot sauce. Overall, the chips and salsa is to die for! Service is good too, not super expensive either!
The birria tacos are some of the best I’ve ever had. Grab their Mexican hot chocolate while you’re there, it is delightful.
Puerta Mexicana is a tiny but super cute neighborhood joint with a friendly staff, fair prices and good portions. Most importantly I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FOOD!!! I usually order pretty much once a week and they are hands down the BEST restaurant in East Rockaway and make some of the best Mexican food on Long Island. My go to items are the chorizo quesadilla, chicken, pork, chorizo or mushroom tacos, enchiladas mole, and the tostadas. They have great guacamole, salsas and vegetarian options as well. Definitely a great spot for the authentic Mexican food lover!

First of all let me start by saying that the place was full of wonderful little adornments that made you feel like you were part of their culture . Next the food from appetizers to drinks and Entrees were all delicious and authentic. We came in as a family and order almost everything. Third the service was amazing. Staff was very pleasant and friendly and very attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone. You can't go wrong here.
First time to eat in this Mexican restaurant. I should say this is the most clean and nice I've been. The decoration is colorful and inviting. The vibes is very calm, peaceful and romantic. The food is delicious. We order tacos, chicken bowl, tostadas, sopes and elote all flavorful. For drinks we got Horchata & Tamarindo its not too sweet its refreshing. For dessert we got Tres leches which I don't usually order coz most places have it too sweet but this place just put it together just right. The staffs are friendly and they have parking outside. Definitely will come back here when we go to Long Island NY again.
